Sometimes I wish I was an artiest;
An opulently, chaotic thing
With paintbrushes tucked behind my ears,
Oil Pastels staining my fingers and a rainbow of chalk dust on my clothes

Sometimes I wish I was an artiest;
With an eye for perspective
Or a talent for smearing ink hereabouts and everywhere
Just that tiny dot, Oh-so-careful-right-there!

Sometimes I wish I was an artiest;
That my hands could create scraggly, little doodles
On the corners of napkins and the edges of notebook paper
Perhaps even a beautiful masterpiece

After all, if I were an artiest,
My art could say a thousand words to one person
And a chiliad of completely different words
To someone else

But I am only a writer,
Who can write a thousand words
That are exactly the same to everyone who reads them
Whether they paint an idea depends on how well I wrote them
I've had this one sitting on the back burner for a while and I finally took the time to finish it. I think every writer's had this feeling at one point or another, where we wish we could create more than our words allow. Not saying that the writer can't do this themselves with their words(or that being an artiest is easier) but sometimes I just wish that I could draw what I see in my head instead of only writing about it.
Sadly, for all my practicing and love of it, art is just not a talent I seem to possess.
Oh well.:iconsighingplz:
Enjoy!

Writers wish to be artists
Artists wish they could do math
Mathematicians wish to be athletes
Athletes wish they could write

But you are clearly a wonderful writer, so embrace it :)

I too feel the same many times though I feel being able to write good is far more what I want rather than being able to draw

Yes and this is because people don't give the written stuff that importance.
